A worker is in hospital with head and rib injuries after falling more than seven metres from scaffolding at an Edmonton jobsite.

Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) said a man was drywalling, when he fell from the second level of the West Edmonton Mall on Oct. 30.

The department said the victim – believed to be in his 50s – was leaning against a scaffold railing, when the barrier failed and the man tumbled onto a photo booth. OH&S is investigating and has issued a stop-use order.
