Industry and labour leaders, politicians, friends and family of those injured and killed in the workplace, as well a the general public gathered at Jack Poole Plaza in downtown Vancouver for the annual Day of Mourning ceremony.

Diana Miles, president and CEO of WorkSafeBC was just one of the speakers at the event. The Day of Mourning began in 1984 to formally commemorate workers killed in the workplace and is now observed across the world. A number of ceremonies were held across western Canada.
