The province of Alberta is putting $30 million towards a new Centre for Arts and Culture at MacEwan University's City Centre campus in downtown Edmonton, Alberta.
The building will be built to silver LEED standards and be connected to the rest of campus by a pedway.
The new five-storey building will be home to the University’s visual and performing arts programs and will provide teaching space to accommodate anticipated future growth. The West End and Mill Woods campuses will be sold to cover some of the costs.
The total cost of construction is estimated at $153 million, and is expected to begin this summer, with completion by 2017.
