CALGARY, ALTA. – The Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) announced their 2020 Scotiabank CAPP Energy Symposium will adopt a virtual format in light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The conference will be held April 7 to April 8 and will feature keynotes, fireside chats and panel discussions.
The conference “connects the upstream oil and natural gas industry with the investment community. Presentations, discussions and keynote speakers will address how the upstream industry is managing through the current unprecedented market conditions,” A CAPP release stated.
The keynote speakers for the event are Alberta premier Jason Kenney who will also participate in an audience question and answer session and and ARC Financial Group founder and partner Mac Van Wielingen with a talk titled “Canada in Crisis: Neglect of Essential Fundamentals and the Failure of Governance.”
A fireside chat is also planned between Alberta minister of energy Sonya Savage and CAPP board chair and Birchcliff Energy Ltd President and CEO Jeff Tonken.
Tonken will also participate in a panel discussion titled “Opportunities and Challenges to Unlock the Value of Western Canadian Natural Gas” alongside Peyto Exploration & Development Corp. president and CEO Darren Gee and TC Energy Corp EVP and president of natural gas pipelines Tracy Robinson.
A CEO roundtable is also planned featuring Ian Dundas of Enerplus Corp., Derek Evans from MEG Energy Corp., Brett Herman of TORC Oil & Gas Ltd. and Andrew Phillips of PrairieSky Royalty Ltd.
