CHBA announces 2021 award finalists
The Canadian Home Builders’ Association has announced the 2021 finalists for the National Awards for Housing Excellence. More than 730 entries were received and a panel of over 170 judges reviewed the entries. Fifty-three awards will be presented in a virtual ceremony on May 7, as well as a design excellence, renovation excellence and marketing excellence award. You can find a complete listing here.
Manitoba awards courthouse reno to Bockstael Construction
Bockstael Construction has been awarded an $11 million tender to renovate and expand the Dauphin Courthouse in Dauphin, Man. The 104-year-old facility will gain accessible entrances and facilities along with other improvements. Design will be carried out by Number Ten Architectural Group.
Vancouver approves Langara College rezoning
Vancouver City Council approved rezoning related to Langara College’s campus master plan at its March 11 meeting. The plan envisions replacing existing facilities with new larger buildings to increase campus space within the existing footprint. The new plan required rezoning permission to permit the amount and form of buildings required under the new plan.
