VRCA 2022 Awards of Excellence silver winners announced

VRCA 2022 Awards of Excellence silver winners announced
GRAHAM CONSTRUCTION - Graham Infrastructure LP in Joint Venture with Aecon Water Infrastructure Inc won a 2022 VRA Silver Award of Excellence in the General Contractor over $50 Million category for the Annacis Island WWTP Stage V, Phase 1 Expansion Project.

VANCOUVER – The Vancouver Regional Construction Association (VRCA) has announced the 2022 Awards of Excellence Silver Award winners.

The 140 nominations from 84 separate projects exceeded $2.8 billion in construction value and this year 51 Silver Award winners in 17 project categories were selected.

“I am inspired by our members and those in the industry who spend countless hours

contributing to the future of construction, while giving back to our communities. I’m excited to celebrate these passionate individuals and member companies for their dedication and inspirational leadership!” VRCA president Donna Grant said.

“Judging the Awards of Excellence is always an astonishing experience ‐ the creativity, perseverance, and ability to overcome challenges always impresses the committee. VRCA members continue to rise to the occasion and deliver top quality, high‐value projects to our clients,” VRCA Awards of Excellence committee chair Bob Proctor added.

Project award categories recognize general, trade, mechanical, electrical contractors and manufacturers and suppliers who delivered an entire project or a component of a project within the past three years.

The criteria for judgement include financial benchmarks, use of innovative techniques, challenges and resolutions, safety records, and/or exceptional project management.

All Silver Award winners will be recognized at the Awards of Excellence gala on October 26 held at the Vancouver Convention Centre West. Gold winners in each category will be selected from the Silver Award winners and announced at the Gala.

VRCA will also present the Environment and Sustainability Award and Heritage Award at the event as well as Outstanding Achievement Awards to “companies and individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to the industry and community,” a VRCA release stated.

The Outstanding Achievement categories include Construction Workplace Health and Safety Innovation, Education Leadership; Zero Emissions Building Leadership, Lifetime Achievement, VRCA Member of the Year, Outstanding Woman in Construction, Safety and YCL Excellence in Construction.

Registration to the 33rd Annual Awards of Excellence gala is now open.
