VANCOUVER – Pinchin Ltd., an environmental and consulting engineering firm, has acquired DEC Engineering, a mechanical engineering and design firm with locations in Vancouver and Victoria, B.C.
Founded in 1979, DEC specializes in buildings systems, district energy, forensic analysis as well as energy and sustainability. According to a media release from Pinchin, DEC are pioneers in the design of innovative heat exchange systems.
"This acquisition strengthens our Building Engineering practice and enables Pinchin to operate at the forefront of mechanical engineering design," said Pinchin CEO Jeff Grossi in the media release.
DEC CEO Dale Carter stated the companies share similar values, cultures and commitment to technical quality.
"The expanded and broader pool of talent will enable us to deliver holistic mechanical and building engineering solutions to our clients, improving responsiveness and enhancing the overall client experience," he said.
Pinchin Ltd. is an employee-owned multi-disciplinary consulting firm, offering design, engineering, and environmental consulting services. Founded in 1981, Pinchin has 38 offices and employs more than 750 people across the country. The DEC team has relocated to the Richmond, B.C. office and is being led by Pinchin operations manager for mechanical services, James Spooner.
