CMHC to release rental survey
Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation will release its 2020 Rental Market Survey tomorrow at 10 a.m. E.T. The annual RMS provides an overview of the primary purpose-built rental market and the secondary rental market covering condominium apartments. Market specific reports will be made available.
Pomerleau appoints new CFO
Pomerleau today announced the appointment of Philippe Adam as EVP and CFO effective May 3, 2021. Adam will also lead the operations of Pomerleau Capital, the private capital and infrastructure investment arm of Pomerleau. Adam most recently worked for Goodfood, where he served as CFO, and previously held the position of SVP at Champlain Financial Corporation.
Deere invests in startups
Illinois-based John Deere today announced four startup firms that will participate in its Startup Collaborator program. One of the firms, Teleo, is active is converting construction and mining equipment into tele-operated robots controlled by operators working remotely from a desk. The technology has the potential to unlock productivity and operational gains for contractors, says the manufacturer.
AXA XL announces mass timber construction risk insurance
AXA XL’s North American construction division announced new business risk insurance tailored to construction clients’ mass timber project risks. The insurance will provide coverage and capacity to experienced contractors that have successfully delivered mass timber projects, using proven materials supplied by experienced manufacturers. The projects will employ the latest monitoring technology and fire suppression systems to complement the contractors robust risk management programs, an AXA XL release stated.
