ACHESON, ALTA. — North American Construction Group Ltd. (NACG) recently announced it has released its first-ever sustainability report. The report provides a consistent framework for evaluating environmental, social and governance initiatives from the company going forward.
The company stated it will commit to producing the report at the beginning of every year so stakeholders can measure progress in a variety of business areas and community programs.
“I am really impressed with the work done by our team in setting up this initial report and framework and, even more so, in the commitments to improve going forward,” said Joe Lambert, company president, in a statement. “We are eagerly strengthening and integrating sustainability into all of our business decisions and culture. We look forward to the challenge of meeting and exceeding our commitments with typical NACG conviction and resolve.”
The report includes sections on safety, health, environment, community investment and First Nations partnerships.
Some of the topics include the company’s COVID-19 response, efforts to reduce fuel consumption, recycling, injury rates and increasing leadership diversity.
