Progressive Planet continues with PozGlass testing
Progressive Planet Solutions Inc., a miner based in Vancouver, today announced the successful completion of phase one of a two-test program for its PozGlass SCM product. The product would replace fly ash in concrete using natural pozzolans and recovered post-consumer glass. Upon successful completion of phase two tests, the firm will move to a full-scale commercial roll-out of the PozGlass SCM product in Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest.
​Firms aiming to be more innovative
This morning Statistics Canada released its Survey of Innovation and Business Strategy, 2017 to 2019. Over that period, the survey indicated, approximately 80 per cent of Canadian businesses indicated they were engaged in innovative practices and strategies. Larger businesses (250 or more employees) were more likely to be innovative (85.8 per cent) than businesses with fewer employees, with 79 per cent of businesses with fewer than 100 employees being innovative in the 2017-to-2019 reference period. Ontario had the highest share of innovative businesses (83.1 per cent).
Edmonton approves Economic Action Plan
The City of Edmonton has approved the Edmonton Economic Action Plan, which brings together past and current economic development work and is designed to leverage current resources to minimize drawing from the city budget. The city’s stated goal is to create job growth and support 121,000 new jobs in ten years, a release stated.
