Leaders prep for French debate

The three main national party leaders are all in Montreal tonight for the TVA French-language leaders debate. Neither Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau nor Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole has other events scheduled, according to the Canadian Press. NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh has a media conference in the morning followed by two events in parks where he will serve poutine.

CCA invites award nominations

Nominations for the 2021 Canadian Construction Association National Awards are now open, as of Sept. 1. There are nine award categories this year, with the addition of the new CCA Young Leader Award, which recognizes individuals 40 and under whose career employment is in the Canadian construction industry and whose firm is a CCA member firm.

AGC releases new pandemic impact data

The Associated General Contractors of America and Autodesk has released new data showing the scope and impact of construction workforce shortages on the U.S. construction sector and how the ongoing coronavirus, including the Delta variant, has impacted the sector. The data will include national, regional and state figures.

Enbridge makes executive changes

Calgary, Alta.-based Enbridge has announced executive leadership changes. Vern Yu has been appointed executive vice-president and chief financial officer taking over from Colin Gruending, who has been appointed executive vice-president and president for liquids pipelines. The changes are effective as of Oct. 1.
