Hawe assumes CEO role with EllisDon

MISSISSAUGA, ONT. — EllisDon has announced the official appointment of Kieran Hawe as its new CEO effective June 5, succeeding Geoff Smith, who announced his intention to step down as president and CEO in April.

Hawe was introduced as the next CEO in April.

He has worked for EllisDon for the past 23 years. Most recently, he served as COO and executive vice-president of construction from April 2019 to May 2023. He joined the firm in 1999 as an M&E co-ordinator.

Before his tenure at EllisDon, Hawe worked in the global building marketplace including Asia, Europe, and the United States.

“I am both honoured and excited to accept the role as EllisDon’s next CEO and lead our exceptional employees and incredible leadership team,” said Hawe in a statement. “I am committed to continue EllisDon’s position as an industry leader in delivering the future of construction through our expansive array of service offerings and cradle-to-grave approach.”

Smith will continue to serve on the board of directors as executive chair and will retain responsibility for the company’s digital and data strategy and execution, as well as for EllisDon’s Windjammer Landing Resort in Saint Lucia.
