Mercer Mass Timber acquires Structurlam; B.C. plant to remain open

SPOKANE VALLEY, WASH. — Mercer Mass Timber has acquired the Structurlam Mass Timber Corporation and all its subsidiaries.

“This acquisition will allow us to offer our customers a wider range of mass timber products, and to better support their projects with the addition of more cross laminated timber capacity and glulam production capabilities,” said Brian Merwin, senior vice-president of Mercer, in a news release.

“Our goal is to become a one-stop shop for all mass timber needs. The additional manufacturing facilities that the Structurlam acquisition brings will enable us to create efficiencies.”

Mercer has officially taken control of Structurlam’s manufacturing facilities in Conway, Arkansas and Penticton, B.C. Both facilities will remain operational.

The addition strengthens Mercer’s product portfolio and capacity adding 45,000 m3 of glulam capacity, bolsters technical expertise and expands the company’s geographic reach, among other benefits.
