Manitoba releases interactive highway project map

Manitoba releases interactive highway project map
PROVINCE OF MANITOBA - A screenshot shows Manitoba’s new interactive highway project map tool.

WINNIPEG – Manitobans can now check out what highway projects are underway across the province from their phone, computer or tablet.

Officials released a new online searchable map tool that displays highway expansion and infrastructure projects that are planned or underway.

The online tool also includes project pages that contain fields with information about the locations, project start and completion dates, and provides information to Manitobans and motorists on infrastructure in their home and destination areas. Users are still encouraged to use Manitoba 511 for up-to-date road information.

“Over the next 10 years, Manitoba will be recognized as a national transportation hub, linking east to west, north to south and enabling strong economic activity within and across our borders,” said Ron Schuler, infrastructure minister, in a statement. “The work currently being undertaken will enhance transportation mobility and connectivity, ensure safety and reliability across the highway network, and enable industry expansion that leverages Manitoba’s diverse economy.

The interactive map tool can be found here: www.gov.mb.ca/mit/mipmap/index.html.
