On Sept. 20 the editorial staff of the Daily Commercial News and Journal of Commerce came together for our first-ever livestream broadcast during the federal election. Along with our own commentary as election results came in, we featured interviews with several experts about the construction industry’s needs from whichever party won the night.
We’ve compiled the interview segments below featuring Andy Manahan, the president of Manahan Consulting Services and the former executive director of the Residential and Civil Construction Alliance of Ontario; Fairley Strategies principal consultant Katy Fairley; former Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships president Mark Romoff; and British Columbia Construction Association president Chris Atchison.
We also have two highlight videos featuring national managing editor Vince Versace, daily editor Lindsey Cole, staff writers Don Wall, Angela Gismondi and Russell Hixson and digital media editor Warren Frey discussing construction and Indigenous issues and a summary of our impressions of the election as the Liberals re-form a minority government.
