SNC-Lavalin has acquired a Quebec-based company named Aqua Data, which specializes in the computerized diagnosis and analysis of water distribution systems and wastewater collection systems.
“Municipalities across North America are concerned about asset management and investing in the renewal of their aging water infrastructure and Aqua Data has the expertise to help us respond directly to these challenges,” said Riadh Ben Aïssa, executive vice-president, SNC-Lavalin Group Inc.
“This acquisition, combined with our existing expertise in urban engineering and construction, pavement management and engineering, and the environment, will broaden our service offering and allow us to provide even more complete and strategic solutions to our clients in this sector.”
Aqua Data was founded in 1987 and has about 100 employees with the capacity to help municipal, commercial and industrial clients manage their water and waste water infrastructure, as well as plan the maintenance and renewal of operations. Aqua Data was formerly a subsidiary of Gaz Métro and has clients in Quebec, Ontario, the Maritimes and the U.S. Its head office is near Montreal.
