VICTORIA, B.C. — Infrastructure BC has released its BC Major Infrastructure Projects Brochure for the spring. The document outlines the province’s biggest projects that are in procurement or are seeking approval.
The document is designed to provides construction industry contractors and subcontractors with a forward view so the resources to the deliver the work ca be prepared.
The brochure focuses on projects with a value above $50 million from the early planning stage through to pre-procurement and active procurement. The spring 2021 brochure includes provincial government projects as well as those from Metro Vancouver and TransLink.
“I am very pleased to welcome Metro Vancouver and TransLink projects to the brochure and look forward to continued contributions from these and other organizations as the brochure grows with each edition,” states Mark Liedemann, Infrastructure BC president and CEO, in a statement. “The addition of these organizations to the BC Major Infrastructure Projects Brochure reflects the understanding of the importance of providing the industry with this vital planning information.”
Some of the projects being planned and seeking approval include:
- John Hart Dam Seismic Upgrades
- Replacing generators/governors on Bridge River 1
- Burnaby Hospital Phase 2
- Richmond Hospital Redevelopment
- Victoria Law Courts
- Royal BC Museum Redevelopment Project
- George Massey Crossing and Corridor Improvements
- Highway 1 Widening from 264th Street to Whatcom
- Surrey Langley Skytrain
Some of the projects currently in pre-procurement include:
- New Surrey Hospital and Cancer Centre
- Mount Lehman Substation Upgrade
- Northwest Langley Wastewater Treatment Plant (Liquid Treatment)
- Highway 1, Ford to Tappen
Some of the projects currently in procurement include:
- Burnaby Hospital Redevelopment Phase 1
- BCIT Student Housing, Tall Timber House
- Cowichan District Hospital Replacement
- Mills Memorial Hospital Redevelopment
- New Skytrain Operations and Maintenance Centre (OMC4)
