Teachers invest in Brazil transmissions

The Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board today announced it has entered into an agreement with TPG, a global alternative asset firm, to acquire a 100percent interest in Evoltz Participaçoes S.A., an electricity transmission platform in Brazil. Evoltz consists of seven electricity transmission lines that total more than 3,500 kilometres across 10 states in Brazil. The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2021.

U.S construction employment stalled in April

The Associated General Contractors of America released U.S. employment data Friday showing construction employment was unchanged from March to April as nonresidential contractors and homebuilders struggled to obtain materials and find enough workers. Association officials said the industry’s recovery was being hampered by problems getting stable prices and reliable deliveries of key materials, while the pandemic and federal policies were making it harder for firms to find workers to hire.

Upcoming improvements slated for BCMC Route

This month a trail improvement project is starting along the BCMC Route. The trail be closed today to facilitate material and supply drops via helicopter. Starting in late May, the BCMC Route will be closed Monday to Thursday for up to 10 weeks. It is imperative that hikers do not use the route while crews are working, states a release. Check the Grouse Mountain Regional Park webpage for updates.
