Modular construction market on the rise
A new research paper from Research and Markets reveals that the global modular construction market was estimated at US$108.59 billion in 2020 and is expected to reach US$116.02 billion in 2021. Longer term, the market is expected to grow at a compound annual rate of 7.17 per cent from 2020 to 2026 to reach US$164.61 billion by 2026. The projections come from a June 2021 market report.
ATCO closes on purchase of Pioneer Pipeline
TransAlta Corporation and its partner Tidewater Midstream & Infrastructure Ltd. today announced the closing of the previously announced sale of the Pioneer Pipeline to ATCO Gas and Pipelines for the aggregate sale price of $255 million. The net proceeds to TransAlta from the sale are approximately $127.5 million, subject to adjustments. The Pioneer Pipeline will be integrated into the NOVA Gas Transmission and ATCO’s Alberta natural gas transmission systems.
AECOM continues Valley Line partnership
AECOM has announced its partnership with ConnectED Transit Partnership has been approved by the City of Edmonton to continue its role as owner’s engineer on the Valley Line light rail transit (LRT) extension. Through the $124 million contract AECOM will continue to provide design and construction compliance review services for Valley Line West, and additional work on Valley Line Southeast.
