WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — Construction on the Cariboo Memorial Hospital Redevelopment Project is one step closer to beginning after Graham Design Builders LP signed a construction contract with Interior Health.
“Soon people will see shovels in the ground as the modernized and expanded hospital begins to take shape,” said Adrian Dix, minister of Health, in a news release.
The redevelopment will see an addition to the existing hospital and renovations of the old facility. The addition will be three-storeys and a basement totaling roughly 100,100 square feet.
Construction is set to take place in two phases with the first phase focusing on the addition and beginning this coming spring and finishing in 2026. Phase two will focus on renovations, beginning in the fall of 2026 and finishing 2029, according to the release.
The project budget is more than $366 million.
