On April 23, Blair went to his mom’s house to take her to Costco for blueberries and milk. He put his lottery tickets down in the kitchen and went to another room, where he sat with his father and two dogs.
All of a sudden, he heard his mother screaming from the kitchen. He went to see what all the noise was about and found out he had seven of seven numbers. He was the winner of the $41.7-million Lotto Max jackpot, the largest single claim in Alberta history.
Blair contacted a lawyer and an accountant and has since paid off his mortgage. He built the house with his girlfriend, so they could start a family. He also plans to give some money to his parents so they can retire.
