VANCOUVER — Several titans of industry will be coming to Vancouver to share career advice with aspiring women.
Mentor Walks will be launching in April for the first time since it started in 2016 in Australia, according to a news release.
The event will involve a diverse group of senior professional and entrepreneurial women including Mhairi Petrovic the founder of Out-Smarts Marketing, Cathy Fitzgerald the vice-president of Apollo Silver Corp., Libby Senez the CFO of Torq Resources, Joanna Bailey the CFO of Liberty Gold Corp and Laura Chodola the CEO of Tealish.
The inaugural walk will take place on April 21 at 7:10 a.m. at Canada Place where mentees and mentors will then walk for an hour along the seawall.
“It can be difficult to find like-minded career women in your city. Career women also have issues, big and small, and often it is hard to find impartial people to go to for advice,” said founder Bobbi Mahlab in the release.
“Our mentors provide these aspiring women with advice on challenges they’re facing now, such as getting a promotion, asking for a pay raise, influencing executive teams and managing up or when to launch a business or product.”
There will be six walks between April and December 2023. Those interested in purchasing a ticket to take place in the walk can do so at https://www.mentorwalks.org/vancouver-mentor-walks .
The Vancouver launch is being supported by Seequent.
