PHOTO: Gas line strike in Burnaby, B.C.

Crews were busy trying to contain a gas line leak on Henning Drive in Burnaby, B.C. on Jan. 14, 2016. Construction crews were installing a fiber optic line down the road in front of Bridge Studios, when an excavator hit the gas line.

Reports from the site indicate that a physical locate of the underground utilities had been conducted and the utilities had been marked before the strike happened. The road was closed in both directions to traffic. Burnaby firefighters attended the scene. Early reports indicate that no one was injured.
