VANCOUVER – Another crane incident has occurred in Vancouver.
On Oct. 29 police responded to an incident on East Hastings St. near Glen Drive where a crane appeared to have dropped its load.
WorkSafeBC sent prevention officers after it was notified about the incident around 10:45 a.m. and has launched an investigation, according to local media reports.
The incident comes after WorkSafeBC implemented new crane safety regulations on Oct. 1, which were put in place after several crane incidents happened in the early months of 2024, including one at the Oakridge construction site where a worker was killed.
Another incident occurred at the Oakridge site on Oct. 3, though in that instance no one was harmed.
