Construction worker dies in plane crash in Resolute, Nunavut

Raymond Pitre, a New Brunswick construction worker, is among those who tragically lost their life in a plane crash in Resolute, Nunavut on August 20 when a First Air 737 crashed into a hillside while attempting to land at Resolute Airport.

The 39-year-old was headed to Nunavut to do drywall work. He was one of 12 passengers who died in the crash. There were three survivors, including a seven-year-old girl.

The cause of the crash is yet to be determined, but witnesses have stated clouds were low and fog was present at the time of the crash.
