ABERDEEN, SASK. — A new group home has broken ground in Aberdeen.
The project received $525,000 in annual funding from the province, bringing funding for Farm in the Dell to more than $1.4 million.
Farm in the Dell is an organization supporting people with disabilities in a rural farm-like setting.
Rikkeal Bohmann, a representative for the Saskatchewan Ministry of Social Services, confirmed the scope of the organization’s Aberdeen project as a new 2,643-square-foot group home with an attached two-bedroom, 672-square-foot Supported Independent Living Program suite.
“Total contract cost is estimated at approximately $697,655,” she said in an email.
The project will be developed by Rocy Developments Corporation and design was completed by CADvantage Design Ltd. The anticipated possession date is March 1, 2019.
