CALGARY, ALTA. — The Park Point highrise residential community in Calgary’s Beltline neighbourhood near the city’s downtown core has reached completion.
Developed by Qualex-Landmark, the building officially opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Aug. 9 attended by Calgary’s deputy mayor Evan Woolley, Qualex-Landmark president Mohammed Esfahani and managing director Cyrus Navabi, IBI Group director Martin Bruckner and Axiom Builders senior vice-president Mike McDonough.
Designed by IBI Group, the building features 289 residences as well as live/work townhomes at ground level. Axiom Builders was the general contractor on the project, with engineering work by Nemetz & Associates Ltd. (electrical), Reinbold Engineering (mechanical) and Bryson Markulin Zickmantel Structural Engineers (structural).
Construction on the project began in 2015. In order to stay on schedule, 170 to 200 workers worked during peak times with an average of 135 people working continuously on the building.
