COQUITLAM, B.C. — Mountain View Suites has officially opened in the city of Coquitlam providing 75 new affordable housing units for residents.
The five-storey apartment building was completed with the help of a $7.5 million investment from BC Housing which will also provide an operating subsidy of approximately $560,000 per year, according to a news release.
Coquitlam contributed $660,000 for the build.
Mountain View is located at 1110 King Albert Ave.
Land for the project, valued at $5.3 million, was provided in a partnership between the Como Lake United Church congregation and the Pacific Mountain Region of the United Church of Canada.
The units are intended for families, seniors and people with low to moderate incomes.
Rents will range from $375 to $2,341 per month, depending on the size of the unit and household income, states the release.
