Canada and Saskatchewan invest in new Habitat for Humanity home

PRINCE ALBERT, SASK. – The governments of Canada and Saskatchewan are putting $65,000 towards a Prince Albert home built by Habitat for Humanity for a local family.

Habitat for Humanity announced the build at held a ceremony on Feb. 26 to commemorate the start of construction of a five-bedroom bungalow-style home that will be 1,104 square feet and have a developed basement. 

Funding provided for the home includes: $65,000 from the Saskatchewan Priorities component of Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation Saskatchewan Bi-Lateral Agreement under the National Housing Strategy as well as $15,000 from the City of Prince Albert provided upon occupancy.  

The family is anticipated to move into the new home in summer 2024.
