This week on the Construction Record podcast digital media editor Warren Frey spoke to BC Construction Safety Alliance executive director Mike McKenna and Work to Wellness founder Diana Vissers about the launch of RE-MIND, an extensive mental health resource website specific to the needs of those in the construction industry.
McKenna and Vissers go through the many facets of the site including information on recognizing mental health challenges, addressing alcohol and drug use in the trades, the challenges omen face in the industry and ways for workers to take action to help themselves towards improving their mental health.
McKenna also discussed the recent Lone Hunter video which looks at the struggles men in the construction industry go through as they grapple with the still prevalent stigma around reaching out for help when struggling with mental health.
