On this episode of The Construction Record Podcast, digital media editor Warren Frey speaks with XFrame chief technology officer Ged Finch about the New Zealand-based company’s modular and reconfigurable framing system.
Finch explained that the XFrame system, a series of interlocking wood panels, can create a more sustainable frame for buildings that is quick to put together and more friendly to the environment by reducing the amount of waste in building refits.
He added the XFrame system, which is currently being used in Australia, New Zealand and the United States, can be used not only for residences but also emergency housing that can be assembled and disassembled quickly and then used for more permanent structures, as well as modular structures that can be transported to remote or difficult to reach locations.
