This week we’re reporting from the Canadian Concrete Expo, the only national trade show for Canada’s concrete industry. Journal of Commerce digital media editor Warren Frey and Daily Commercial News staff writer Angela Gismondi both attended sessions at the Expo, so keep an eye on both our websites for a series of concrete-related stories soon.
Warren also spoke with national managing editor Vince Versace at the Expo, who gave an overview of the busy news cycle back at the Daily Commercial News offices including some of the newest announcements by the Ontario government about skilled trades recruitment in underrepresented groups, as well as upcoming features in both the JOC and DCN concerning occupational health and safety. Vince also pointed to our ongoing ConExpo coverage as we ramp up to attending the conference in March.
Warren also interviewed Eric Cote from the General Contractors Alliance of Canada about prompt payment and interviewed Great Northern Management Consultants president Charles Kelly and BC Construction Safety Alliance program manager Ammar Kavazovic about the BCCSA’s new concrete pump operator certification.
