Proposal-Design Build, Construction of South Surrey Interceptor Johnston Road Section – Trenchless Segments

Tender Description

Site work for a water / sewer project in Burnaby, British Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The Project consists of design and construction of two pipeline runs to be installed by tunnel or trenchless methods, located adjacent to sections of separate open cut installation projects for the SSI referred to as the Johnston Road Section Phase 1 and Phase 2 Projects. These projects, when combined, are approximately 2.1 km long. The overall new SSI Johnston Road Section will connect to the Trites Road Section grit chamber located west of King George Boulevard, run parallel to the existing box interceptor and connect to the existing sewer system near the intersection of 153A Street and Highway 10.

The project involves design and installation of approximately 423 m of 3,050 mm nominal diameter sanitary sewer. The alignment is to the north of the existing SSI and traverses mostly through private commercially developed properties. This project includes the connection to the existing pipeline, which is not currently live and will not be live until after all Phase 2 work is complete, including the tunneling or trenchless construction through two separate business parks included in this contract and an open cut crossing of 152 Street, which is not included in this contract.
