TORONTO — Arup has announced the appointment of Craig Forrest to lead its Canadian operations.
Forrest works out of Arup’s Toronto office and oversees the company’s Montreal office as well, stated a recent release.
For the past five years, Forrest has served as the global leader for Arup’s Business and Investor Advisory services, consulting on business, financial, economic, regulatory and asset management strategies. Recent honours of that division include being named Top Technical Advisor in Europe, Africa and the Americas by IJ Global and the top-ranking Technical Advisor by Value in 2018 by Inframation.
Forrest joined Arup in 2007 as the commercial director for the Infrastructure of Europe Group. He has almost 25 years of experience advising on investments in major infrastructure projects in energy, aviation, water, transport and cities.
“We are excited to welcome Craig to the Toronto office as we continue to grow our business and investor advisory work throughout Canada,” said Andy Howard, chair of Arup Americas, in the statement. “Craig’s track record of providing owners, operators and investors with strategic market and financial advice combined with his deep technical knowledge positions him well to champion Arup’s growing influence in Canada.”

Forrest will work with Andrew McAlpine, the previous Canada leader who remains at Arup as a principal, the release noted.
The Toronto office also announced Melissa Burton as the consulting practice leader in Canada. Burton has been serving the firm as a leader with Arup’s Advanced Technology and Research team.
Both the Toronto and Montreal offices moved to new, larger offices recently. Arup current employs over 320 people in Canada.
