Skills at Home challenge targets robots
The 16th instalment of Skills Ontario’s #SkillsAtHome challenge series, the #SkillsRobotChallenge, launches today. Participants are asked to create a robot out of any materials available, such as LEGOs or building blocks. Submissions must be posted to Twitter or TikTok by Dec. 14.
Minnesota gives final Line 3 approval
Calgary-based Enbridge this morning announced that its Line 3 Replacement Project has received all necessary permits and approvals for construction in Minnesota. The project entails replacement of a crude oil pipeline across northern Minnesota. ”This is a historic day for the Line 3 project, which will strengthen the safety of the system for years to come,” said Vern Yu, Enbridge executive vice-president. “With all of the permits in hand, we can now start construction.”
Feds to give progress report on Centre Block project
Public Services and Procurement Canada will be giving an update on progress of the Centre Block construction project in Ottawa tomorrow. Tours offered to the media are two hours in length.
Chez Doris now an overnight shelter
Chez Doris Women’s Shelter in Montreal has announced it has completed adaptations of its day shelter and starting today it will offer overnight shelter services. Chez Doris will have 18 beds and 16 rest chairs available to women overnight during the winter months. Partial funding came from the Makivik Corporation, which represents Quebec’s Inuit, as well as the federal program Reaching Home.
