Pattullo Bridge in Metro Vancouver will be shut down over the weekend of August 17-20 to allow repaving of a portion of the bridge where damage to the asphalt pavement at the south end has become a safety concern.
TransLink is informing all adjacent municipalities and emergency services to prepare for this closure. Signage and additional traffic flaggers will be used to ensure safety requirements are met.
“As well as addressing the immediate safety issue, closing the bridge will provide an opportunity to examine the bridge deck thoroughly,” says TransLink Senior Project Manager Darren Woodworth.
