TORONTO — Toronto-based EnergyX Solutions has issued a statement highlighting new U.S. President Joe Biden’s clean energy plan and promoting AI technology as a valuable tool.
The release noted Biden’s administration intends to see four million buildings upgraded and two million homes weatherized over the next four years.
“President Biden is making a huge commitment toward achieving our collective clean energy goals,” stated Nishaant Sangaavi, the co-founder and CEO of EnergyX Solutions, in a statement. “This is great news for our environmental and climate change commitments because it’s going to have a major impact on the energy sector not only in the U.S. but around the world.”
Across North America, residential buildings are responsible for more than 10 per cent of total energy consumption. Up to 80 per cent of that is used for space heating, particularly in colder climate zones, said EnergyX, noting a lot of the energy used in homes is wasted through cracks and gaps and drafty windows, or due to a heating system that’s not operating at peak efficiency. In a typical home, air leakage can account for 25 to 40 per cent of the energy used for heating and cooling.
The firm noted that technology like EnergyX’s Retrofit AI can perform audits with the same accuracy as an onsite audit without a home visit, thanks to machine learning and data science.
