Cintec North America system to be used for anchoring work on Massey Hall
MASSEY HALL — Cintec North America recently announced it will be doing anchoring and restoration work at Toronto’s historic Massey Hall. The concert hall is undergoing a massive revitalization.

TORONTO — Cintec North America, specializing in structural masonry retrofit strengthening, repair and preservation, will be completing anchoring and restoration work at Toronto’s Massey Hall.

The historic, renowned concert hall has undergone a massive restoration to recapture its original sound and ensure it will serve audiences for generations to come.

The Cintec reinforcement anchors stabilize and strengthen an unreinforced masonry structure without the need for external and internal steel bracing, making them ideal for historical buildings, masonry bridges, monument repair, highrise buildings, retaining walls and harbor walls, indicates a release.

The company states the reinforcement anchors also withstand freeze-thaw cycles without shrinkage or loss of strength, limiting the threat of Toronto weather.

“The Cintec system comprises a steel section in a mesh fabric sleeve, into which a specially developed cementitious grout is injected under low pressure to create both a mechanical and cementitious bond,” states the release.
