Toronto, Peel, Hamilton release COVID-19 outbreak data

TORONTOSeven Toronto construction sites or construction-related workplaces have experienced COVID-19 outbreaks since Friday, May 6. 

Weekly tallies of outbreaks or workplace closures or partial closures are posted on the websites of the Toronto, Peel and Hamilton public health units.  

The following Toronto construction or construction-related workplaces were declared in active COVID outbreak by Toronto Public Health since May 6:  

  • Crosslinx, outbreak declared May 11, three cases 
  • Deltera, subcontractors Ozz Electric and Global Plum, May 6, 12 cases 
  • Leader Plumbing and Heating, May 6, three cases 
  • Oakdale Kitchen, May 7, 15 cases 
  • Moro Group, subcontractor Verdi Structures, May 6, 17 cases 
  • Reliance Construction, subcontractors Nortown Electrical Contractors, May 10, seven cases 
  • Tucker HiRise, May 12, four cases. 

Construction workplace closures or partial closures in Toronto since May 6 are as follows: 

  • Ozz Electric (affected subcontractor), Deltera workplace, Adra Villaway site, May 8, partial closure 
  • Verdi Structures (affected subcontractor), Moro Group workplace, Widmer Street, May 11, partial closure. 

Only one construction or construction-related workplace has been fully or partially closed by Peel Public Health since May 6: Pro-Ply Custom Plywood, Clark Boulevard, Brampton, May 8, full closure. 

Outbreaks at Hamilton construction or construction-related workplaces since May 7 are as follows: 

  • ArcelorMittal Dofasco, Batch Anneal furnace, May 12, three cases 
  • Kromet International (aluminum products), May 8, eight cases 
  • Mount Albion School construction site, May 10, six cases.
