Construction crews are busy building a new annex for the city hall in Nanaimo B.C. on Vancouver Island. Windley Contracting Ltd. is the general and concrete contractor.
Chow Low Hammond Architects Inc. is the architect. The 42,900 sq. ft. project will take shape in two storeys above grade and one below. It is being built to reach LEED Gold certification.
Contractors on the project include Holdfast Metalworks Ltd. (structural steel), G&G Roofing Ltd. and Waywest Mechanical Ltd. Consulting engineers include Newcastle Engineering Ltd. (civil), Herold Engineering Ltd. (structural), Rocky Point Engineering Ltd. (mechanical) and RB Engineering (electrical).
Construction is expected to be complete in early 2013.
