CHICAGO — Lauren Lake, COO and co-founder of Bridgit, based in Kitchener, Ont., will be honoured during the inaugural Maverick Awards Dinner, hosted by BuiltWorlds.
The 2021 Maverick Awards recognize individuals who have acted as trendsetters, innovative thinkers, and catalysts of change in their respective fields and includes architects, entrepreneurs, industry leaders, technologists, investors and those developing both off-site fabrication and on-site robotics.
Lake and Mallorie Brodie founded bridgit, a construction resource management platform. Lake holds a degree in Civil Structural Engineering, won the top prize at Google Demo Day, was named in the TechWeek 100 list of entrepreneurs, was added to the Forbes Manufacturing & Industry 30 Under 30, and was named to the Best Of Canada Forbes Under 30 Innovators list.
Bridgit has raised nearly $20 million from investors including Autodesk, Vanedge Capital and Chicago-based Hyde Park Venture Partners, indicates a LinkedIn post by BuiltWorlds.
Bridgit was the beneficiary of early support from CIBC Innovation, the University of Toronto’s branch of the Creative Destruction Lab, Canadian-based BDC‘s Women in Tech Fund, and StandUp Ventures, a Toronto-based venture fund that specifically focuses on startups led by women entrepreneurs, adds the post.
