Bird wins OPG HQ job
Ontario Power Generation announced today it has awarded Bird Construction the engineering, procurement and construction contract for OPG’s Clarington Corporate Campus. The new facility will consolidate all non-station-based staff at a location adjacent to the existing Darlington Energy Complex in Clarington, in Durham Region, ready for occupancy in 2024.
Vantage acquires Trimble dealership rights
Calgary-based Vantage Canada has announced the acquisition of Trimble dealership rights and assets from Premier Equipment in Ontario. Premier Equipment is a multi-location John Deere dealership in southern Ontario selling John Deere agriculture, precision ag, compact construction and turf equipment.
CarbonCure partners with Astec
CarbonCure Technologies, a Canadian company that has developed technology to reduce the carbon footprint of concrete, has announced a strategic partnership agreement with Tennessee’s Astec Industries, a manufacturer of specialized equipment for asphalt roadbuilding, aggregate processing and concrete production. CarbonCure’s concrete technology has been installed in more than 400 concrete plants around the world. Astec markets the RexCon, CON-E-CO and BMH Systems brands.
One Ontario to host housing webinar
The One Ontario coalition has announced a new webinar event in its One Ontario Conference Series. Titled Leaping Ahead or Falling Behind: How One Ontario Can Help Solve the Housing Crisis, the event will take place Oct. 5 at 11 a.m. EDT. One Ontario, led by AECO Innovation Lab, is active in advocating for increased digitization of the development approval process in Ontario.
