Mississauga council approves Lakeview Village zoning plan
CICADA DESIGN—The pier at Lakeview Village will become the longest Canadian pier in the Great Lakes, according to the developer Lakeview Community Partners. The developer received city council zoning approval for the project on Nov. 10.

MISSISSAUGA, ONT.—Lakeview Community Partners Limited (LCPL) has announced it has received draft plan approval, official plan amendment approval and zoning bylaw endorsement for its Lakeview Village development in Mississauga.

The approvals were granted at a publicly held planning and development committee meeting on Nov. 8, and then ratified on Nov. 10 by city council, stated a release.

The master plan calls for 8,050 units of housing ranging from townhouses to mid-rise and highrise buildings, 1.9 million square feet of office uses and employment space and 200,000 square feet available for retail and restaurants.

There will also be 45 acres of green space and a 20-acre innovation district targeting employment, research and technology developers. The anticipated number of residents is between 16,000 and 20,000.

“The DPA, OPA approval and ZBL endorsement is a landmark achievement for Lakeview Village and everyone that has worked tirelessly to bring this development to the Mississauga waterfront,” said Brian Sutherland, vice-president of development for Argo Development and development lead for Lakeview Village, in a statement. “We began this process in 2018 working closely with the community on a vision for what this transformation could bring to Mississauga’s waterfront and this approval allows us to begin an exciting new phase.”
