OTTAWA — Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and CHEO have shortlisted three teams to design, build and finance the 1Door4Care: CHEO Integrated Treatment Centre project in Ottawa.
A request for proposals (RFP) is expected to be issued to EllisDon Infrastructure Healthcare, PCL Partnerships and Pomerleau Inc. this fall.
CHEO includes a hospital, children’s treatment centre, autism program, mental health agency, school and research institute with satellite services located throughout eastern Ontario. The centre will merge seven care locations, currently leased and spread across Ottawa, into a single, purpose-built site on CHEO’s main Smyth Road campus, states the project website.
The project is anticipated to be certified LEED Silver.
The teams were shortlisted based on criteria identified in a request for qualifications process that began in March 2022.
The applicant lead and construction team for EllisDon Infrastructure Healthcare is EllisDon Corporation. The design team is Montgomery Sisam Architects Inc., Vertechs Design Inc., WalterFedy, Mulvey & Banani International Inc., H. H. Angus and Associates Limited and Entuitive Corporation. The financial adviser is EllisDon Capital Inc.
For PCL Partnerships, the applicant lead and construction team is PCL Constructions Canada. The design team consists of PCL Constructors Canada Inc., Parkin Architects Limited, WSP Canada Inc., Cleland Jardine Engineering Ltd., Morrison Hershfield Ltd., CSW Landscape Architects Ltd., Victor Ford & Associates Inc. The financial adviser is PCL Investments.
Pomerleau Inc.’s team consists of applicant lead, construction team and financial adviser Pomerleau Inc. with Pomerleau Capital. The design team includes Pomerleau Inc. with Pomerleau Capital, Jodoin Lamarre Pratte Architects (JLP) + Neuf Architects (Neuf), Quinn Design Associates (Quinn), Quasar Consulting Group Inc. (Quasar) + Pratu, Stephenson Engineering Limited (Stephenson), GHD Limited (GHD), Smith and Anderson, Kiwi Newton Group (Kiwi Newton).
Once RFP submissions are received, IO and CHEO will evaluate the proposals, select a preferred team and then negotiate a final contract.
