Partners in Prevention returns to Thunder Bay

MISSISSAUGA, ONT. – The Partners in Prevention (PIP) Regional Conference and Trade Show, hosted by Workplace Safety and Prevention Services (WSPS), is returning to a live event format with content safety leaders, innovators and entrepreneurs can put into action.

Forum North will be held in Thunder Bay Nov. 1 and 2 at the Victoria Inn Hotel and Convention Centre.

Keynotes include Marc Andre Ferron, Managing OSH 20 per cent Effort 80 per cent of Results; Graham Sherman, Why Collaboration Beats Competition; and Shilo Neveu, Does Safety Culture Have Legal Teeth?

Featured sessions include Ask the Inspector; Hazard and Risk Assessment for Supervisors; Violence and Harassment Prevention; Machine Safety and Ergonomics; Roadmap to Mental Health Harm Prevention; and Investigation of Harassment.

WSPS president and CEO Lynn Brownell said there has been a major shift, elevating health and safety on the corporate agenda and the show aims to provide clarity.

“I think that the other thing that our PIP conferences and our training courses do is really provide managers and supervisors and employees with what is their scope of responsibility? How do they apply the tools and the toolkits? And then what’s outside of their scope of responsibility and influence? And quite frankly, you know, I think that is always a bit of a confusion. And if we can clarify that for people, I think that takes people a long way on the journey,” said Brownell in a statement.
