CEP Forensic Inc., LRI Engineering merge to become leader in risk management

TORONTO — LRI Engineering, a company specializing in fire protection engineering and building code consulting, has merged with CEP Forensic, a national company providing forensic engineering services, with the goal to create a leader in the field of risk management and technical services.

The merger is supported by BDC Capital – Growth Equity Partners, the companies announced Oct. 19.

LRI is a Canadian-owned engineering firm based in downtown Toronto with offices in Ottawa, Calgary and Montreal. Services are provided from building design conception through occupancy and include fire protection programs, drawing reviews, fire alarm and suppression system design, emergency response planning and training, fire drills and liaising with regulatory authorities, states a release. The company works closely with many of the country’s largest property owners as well as architectural firms.

Both companies have values and objectives that are closely aligned.

“Driven by the goal to build a unique niche service portfolio and provide complimentary engineering services across Canada, CEP and LRI are joining forces to propel the company further,” states a release. “With both companies being leaders and having strong brand recognition in their respective market segment, an independent branding strategy will be maintained.”
