TORONTO — The developers of the Frank Gehry-designed Forma condo project in Toronto have announced the sale of a penthouse unit for over $20 million.
The 8,500-square-foot residence occupies the whole 72nd floor of one of the two buildings at King Street West and Ed Mirvish Way. Forma has now reached close to $700 million in sales after being launched in June 2022.
The developers are Great Gulf Group, Dream and Westdale Properties. The buildings will rise 73 storeys and 84 storeys respectively.
Joining Gehry Partners LLP in design was Studio Paolo Ferrari as interior designer. Forma is Gehry’s first residential project in Canada and his tallest building in the world. The architect has purchased a suite of his own in the residence.
Project amenities include a Creator’s Club with multi-functional workspaces and an adjoining Maker’s Studio. There will also be a health and wellness retreat with a gym, spa, jacuzzi and spin room.
“Since its inception, Forma has gained a reputation as the most prestigious mixed-use development in Toronto,” says Mitchell Cohen, COO of Westdale Properties, in a statement. “Despite economic headwinds, this extraordinary penthouse sale proves that demand for world-class architecture in well-located neighbourhoods remains strong.”
