Architecture firm Perkins+Will Inc. has consolidated three practices, merged with Vermeulen Hind Architects and launched a national practice focusing on interiors, civic and recreations projects, health care and education.
Perkins+Will was formed from the merger of Shore Tilbe Perkins+Will, Vancouver-based Busby Perkins+Will and Hamilton, Ontario-based Vermeulen Hind, which has designed health care facilities including Stronach Regional Cancer Centre, the Ottawa Hospital Regional Cancer Centre, Irving Greenberg Family Cancer Centre, the McMaster University Engineering Technology Building and renovations at the Ottawa Hospital trauma unit.
Shore Tilbe Perkins+ Will’s projects in Ontario include the Whitby Public Library, Civic Square Hazel McCallion Academic Learning Centre in Mississauga, the Trent University Athletics Complex in Peterborough and the University of Waterloo Engineering Five Building.
Vermeulen Hind was founded in 1992 in Dundas, Ontario, which has since been annexed by Hamilton. Vermeulen Hind, along with Perkins+Will's current Toronto office, will comprise the Ontario practice of Perkins+Will Canada.
It has 18 offices worldwide, including Hamilton, Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Dubai, Shanghai and London.
