TORONTO — A worker who became stuck in a tunnel at a Toronto construction site earlier this afternoon (April 3) has been taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
According to Toronto police, the incident occurred in the Lower Sherbourne and The Esplanade area of the city at 2:57 p.m. Toronto Fire also responded to the call.
The employer is C & M McNally Engineering Corp.
The Ministry of Labour inspector was assigned and attended the scene. One requirement was issued to the employer.
On April 4, inspectors returned to the project to continue the investigation. Three orders and one requirement were issued to the constructor.
The investigation is ongoing and the ministry cannot comment further at this time.
