Nexen Inc. and OPTI Canada Inc. received approval from the Alberta Utilities Commission to build a new cogeneration power plant at their Long Lake South Phase I oilsands project about 40 kilometres southeast of Fort McMurray.
Nexen Inc. and OPTI Canada Inc. received approval from the Alberta Utilities Commission to build a new cogeneration power plant at their Long Lake South Phase I oilsands project about 40 kilometres southeast of Fort McMurray.
The companies will construct and operate a plant consisting of one gas turbine generator and one heat recovery steam generator.
In addition, Nexen/OPTI will construct a cogeneration substation consisting of one transformer.
